Assassin’s Creed III US Trailer Censors Killing of Americans

Ubisoft releases an edited trailer in the US, while the UK gets a much grittier one...

As if Ubisoft had forgotten that US residents have access to the internet, a new trailer for Assassin's Creed III has been released Stateside that is glaringly different from the trailer that has been released in the UK.

The two-and-a-half minute UK trailer shows, among other things, new protagonist Connor Kenway killing US soldiers. The US version, however, doesn't; it instead ends with a much more PG-friendly Connor standing on the edge of a mountain. Check out the differences between the two trailers below (skip to the 2.09 mark in the first video to see the "offending" clip):

It should be noted that the first DLC pack Ubisoft will release for the game will see the player take on an evil George Washington, so it's unlikely that there's any bias here; what's more likely is that the folk in marketing decided to go all North Korea on our asses/arses.
