Winnipeggers who love ramblin' man Ron James can check out one of his live shows on December 8th as part of his Western Canada tour hits Manitoba.

The Nova Scotia native will be performing at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre. He will also be making stops at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium, the Red Deer Memorial Centre, the EPCOR Centre in Calgary, and the Winspear Theatre in Edmonton.

"Standup comedy is meant to be seen live," James said in the tour-announcement release (as reported by Winnipeg Free Press). "It's religion for the funny bone. Comedy fans are in a room of 1,000 people or more from all walks of life, and for a couple of hours everyone's laughing at the same thing… despite their differences. Plus, there's no commercials." Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster outlets.

James grew up in Eastern Canada and attended Acadia University, later moving to LA for a period of time before returning to his roots in Canada. He started doing stand-up comedy and got a number of voiceover gigs, also starring in several TV series such as "Blackfly" and "Made in Canada." He's headlined his own show at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal and he currently lives in Toronto.

The fourth season of "The Ron James Show," which he has already finished recording, kicks off on New Year's Eve.
