Special guest Joe Dante stops by The B-Movies Podcast this week, and we waste no time grilling him on just about every movie he ever directed (okay, we skipped over Small Soldiers… sue us).

His latest film, the 3D horror movie The Hole, is opening in theaters this weekend and premieres on DVD and Blu-ray on October 2, 2012. Dante tells us all about his first feature film in nine years, and then we grill him for an hour on cutting trailers for Roger Corman (and losing the trailer for Caged Heat down a manhole), shooting his first feature film in ten days, when you're technically allowed to feed a Mogwai, Chris Columbus's R-rated first draft Gremlins, the scenes that were cut from The Explorers, where you can the complete  version of Mant, the origins of Trailers from Hell, the greatest trailers ever made and what really happened behind the scenes of Looney Tunes: Back in Action. He also gives us his impeccable Tasmanian Devil impersonation: "Why you bury me in the cold, cold ground…?"
