Tebow For President?

What the Jets quarterback said in an interview to imply his future in politics and why this writer wouldn't mind the move.

There has been a ton of unlikely political figures over the years, from actors to former professional wrestlers, so it should come as no shock when we hear New York Jets backup QB Tim Tebow is considering a future in politics.

Tebow, easily one of the most charismatic and controversial players to ever step onto an NFL field (in a good way), recently sat down with ESPN's Rich Cimini for a one on one interview. One of the questions Cimini asked was whether Tebow would consider a future in politics.

Tebow's response, in typical Tebow fashion, was insightful while non-committal.

“I haven't ruled it out.” Tebow said. “Whatever avenue I feel like I can make a difference in, I'd love to do. I haven't ruled out anything like that. It won't be anytime soon in my future, but it'll be something I'll at least look at and consider one day.”

Not exactly a glowing endorsement for future politics, but considering that the man throws his heart and soul into everything he does, and he is currently doing football, then it's an understandable answer. Personally, considering his life path, his popularity and his steadfast committal to his beliefs, Tebow would own the political game much easier than he could master passing accuracy.

Think about it. Tebow is a towering figure of a man that represents honesty, strict beliefs that he is not ashamed to admit, and he has tackled the most daunting scrutiny that any man on this planet has received, and came out smiling. This is a guy with no skeletons in his closet — they would have been found out by now — who could unite a land rife with turmoil.

Ok, maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself here, I haven't quite reached the point where I'm printing up my Tebow for President in 2028, but in reality, can you name a more polarizing figure that just seems like a right fit to lead this country?

Heck, as long as the fate of the world doesn't revolve around a 30 yard stop and go, then make Tebow my leader!

Seriously though, as long as he keeps his nose clean, both literally and figuratively, then politics does seem like the natural next step in his personal evolution. I can almost guarantee that he would have the support of a nation on this one.

Everyone wants to see an honest politician at least once in their life…oh, and Bigfoot as well.
