In the closing moments of "Community" season 3, Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) finally worked up the courage to begin searching for his father online. But this fall, Jeff will be reunited with his dad, whether he wants to or not.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that James Brolin has signed on to play William Winger in the fifth episode of "Community" season four. The episode will be called “Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations" and take place on Thanksgiving as Jeff ends up in his father's home, coming face-to-face with William for the first time since Jeff was a child. Meanwhile, Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) hosts the other members of the Greendale 7 study group at her home… which quickly becomes an awkward situation.

Brolin has previously starred in "Hotel," "Pensacola: Wings of Gold," "Angel Falls" and "Extreme" in addition to hosting the first season of "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction." However, Brolin is perhaps best known for several of his memorable film appearances, including Capricorn One, The Amityville Horror, Traffic and Catch Me If You Can. More recently, Brolin has guest starred on "Psych" and "The Defenders."

"Community" will kick off its 13 episode fourth season beginning on Friday, October 19 on NBC. Brolin's episode is expected to air in early November.
