Long time readers of Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's "The Walking Dead" comic book series should be deeply familiar with the prison; which served as the home base for Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors during some of the most the story's most disturbing and unforgettable moments. And during the closing moments of the second season finale of "The Walking Dead" on AMC, it was clear that the TV series characters were finally close to finding the prison as well.

Back in July, AMC released the first photos of Rick and his group as they attempted to clear out the prison's walkers and use it as their new sanctuary. But now, AMC has posted a new behind-the-scenes video of Kirkman touring the new prison set as he explains some of the steps taken to bring this location to life. Kirkman even indicates that he found himself to be "uncomfortable" in the setting from his original comic book.

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC on Sunday, October 14 for the first of eight episodes that will comprise one half of the third season. The remaining eight episodes of season 3 are expected to air in early 2013.
