When Modern Warfare 3 launched last year, we here at the Crave Gaming crew felt exceptionally tired. We were tired of the same ol' run and gun atmosphere that Call of Duty had recently brought to the table. We felt the maps were uninspired and the act of levelling up almost boring.
In short: we didn't really like it.
Now, the fresh word from gamers and press out of Gamescom is that Treyarch's multiplayer effort in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is something special. Some suggest it will change the face of competitive FPS gaming for the forseeable future.
Here, Activision rolled out a trailer specifically for the occasion.
High-fives, good times, chest thumping quotes…yep, this feels like a hype trailer.
Even so, we're ready for the multiplayer element in Call of Duty to be flipped on its head. Sure, the Killstreaks and such have to stay, but the formula feels so incredibly, well, formulaic.
If Black Ops 2 really does put forth all the changes and excitement that's demonstrated by the buzz trailer above, we're actually excited.
