The Avengers Are Coming Back to Theaters!

The biggest movie of the year returns on Labor Day. Have they really added something new...?

Can The Avengers finally top Titanic? That's the first question on all of our minds now that Marvel Studios is officially re-releasing their summer blockbuster on Labor Day for one last one-week run in theaters. Joss Whedon's superhero team-up movie wound up just $41 million shy of toppling Titanic in the second highest grossing film of all time, and the geekier among us are eager to vote with our money to try to bridge that gap while we still can. Besides, Marvel Studios might just have a little bonus added to the re-release, if their Facebook page is any indication.

The announcement, which contains a huge and unmistakable SPOILER for anyone who hasn't seen the film yet, simply says "See it again on the big screen! This Labor Day. 8/31-9/6/" Sounds simple enough. But if you scroll down a bit, the official posting says, "Don't forget to stay through the credits…" Considering that the banner image for the page already spoils what used to be the biggest post-credits moment in the film, we can hopefully infer that they've added something new.

What could it be? The first teaser for Iron Man 3, scheduled to come out on May 3? Edgar Wright's Ant-Man short from Comic-Con 2012? More deleted footage? Second helpings of shawarma? We can't wait to find out. Luckily, we don't have to wait more than a few days.

CraveOnline will be back with more Avengers news after we court death.
