The long-awaited seventh season of "Doctor Who" will premiere this Saturday, September 1 on BBC America and BBC One. Matt Smith is back for his third season as the Doctor and he will be joined once again by Karen Gillan's Amy Pond and Arthur Darvill's Rory Williams.
"Doctor Who" showrunner and executive producer, Steven Moffat has described the seventh season episodes as stand alone blockbusters. And to play up that theme, the BBC has released movie style posters for the second, third, fourth and fifth episodes. Be aware, there may be some minor spoilers ahead. The second episode of the season is "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship," in which the Doctor drags Amy, Rory and Rory's father, Brian (Mark Williams) to stop a spaceship filled with dinosaurs from crashing into the Earth while dealing with Queen Nefertiti (Riann Steele) of Egypt and an Edwardian explorer played by Rupert Graves.
"A Town Called Mercy" will be the third episode this season, as the Doctor and his friends travel to the American old west and go up against a dangerous cyborg cowboy. "Farscape" star Ben Browder will also guest star in this episode.
"The Power of Three" comes up after that, as UNIT returns and viewers get a rare opportunity to see the story unfold from Amy and Rory's perspective as they look back at their relationship with the Doctor.
And finally, the fifth episode, "The Angels Take Manhattan " will wrap up Amy and Rory's time on the TARDIS as they travel with the Doctor to New York to take on the Weeping Angels. Alex Kingston will also appear as River Song.
