“I have never seen anyone work so hard not to get $5 million dollars.” – Mike Ehrmantraut
It was a rough week for the team on the last episode of “Breaking Bad.” Between the murder of a young boy and the disposal of his body, Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) also had to contend with a relentless tail from the DEA and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) came to realize that not only does Walter White (Bryan Cranston) feel no guilt about the murdered boy… he might also be bats*** crazy.
So, Mike and Jesse planned their escape from the drug business by selling their share of the methlamine to Declan (Louis Ferreira), a drug lord looking to expand his territory. But as soon as Declan realized that their unseen partner still intended to cook and sell the Blue Sky meth, he refused to buy the methlamine unless Walt sold his share as well.
For $5 million per share, most men would jump at the opportunity. But not Walter White. When restrained by Mike, Walt Macgyvered his way to freedom and hid the methlamine from his incensed partner Only Jesse’s frantic intervention and a promise to give everyone what they want kept Walt alive… for now.
In this week’s “Breaking Bad” preview scene, Mike and Jesse escort Walt to a meeting with Declan in the desert, as Mike makes sure that Walt knows where he stands with him. But Walt doesn’t seem to care, as he awaits another chance to slip into his Heisenberg persona.
The synopsis from this week’s penultimate episode of season 5.0 is fairly vague, but it does suggest that Mike will have to deal with the fallout of provoking the DEA last week.
"Walt assumes a new level of superiority in the business venture. Mike is left to deal with the consequences of his actions."
"Breaking Bad" season 5 continues Sunday night at 10pm on AMC!
