For weeks, Skyler White (Anna Gunn) has lived in fear of her husband, Walter (Bryan Cranston). To be sure, Skyler's apprehension started last season on "Breaking Bad" during Walt's infamous "I am the one who knocks" speech.
But ever since Skyler learned that Walt was capable of murder, she's been on the verge of a nervous breakdown. During last week's episode, Skyler staged a mock (?) suicide attempt in the pool just as a pretense to get her children out of the house… even if only temporarily. However, in the epic argument with Walt that followed, Skyler meekly admitted that she didn't have many options besides waiting for Walt's cancer to return.
Enter Walt Jr. (R.J. Mitte), who is mystified by parents' ongoing relationship problems. Of course, Walt Jr. has no idea that his father is a meth cook turned drug kingpin. All Walt Jr. sees is the cool dad who just leased an awesome car for his son. At some point, Walt Jr. is bound to learn the truth about his father… and it is anyone's guess what will happen after that.
In this week's preview clip, Walt Jr. refuses to leave his parents' home to stay with his aunt and uncle. Understandably, Walt Jr. wants some answers, but neither his mother nor his father are willing to let him into their world.
AMC's synopsis for the new episode is a bit terse this week:
"Mike and Lydia work to get the methylamine delivered for the operation. Walt and Jesse try to work through several ideas to keep undercover."
"Breaking Bad" season 5 continues this Sunday, only on AMC.
