Today, Sony has announced a brand new collection initiative over at their PlayStation Blog. Starting on August 28, Sony will release the first two “PlayStation Collections” alongside the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection, starting with God of War and InFamous. Think of these collections in the same vein as the HD-remaster collections, although they collect far more content under one box.

For instance, the God of War Saga collection will include God of War 1-3, the two PSP GoW titles (Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta), as well as “bonus content.” The InFamous Collection, on the other hand, will include both InFamous 1 and 2, the PSN exclusive “Festival of Blood” title and “extra missions.” All the titles will be remastered in high definition with trophy support.

These collections will start at $30, which is not a bad deal at all for all the content offered. Moving forward, all PlayStation Collections will have a similar cover design to the ones shown above to easily distinguish them on retail/online store shelves. This is apparently Sony’s way to brand their compilations moving forward. Fine by us.
