It’s been a long time coming, but Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots finally has trophy support on the PlayStation 3. Pop your copy of MGS4 into your PS3 and install the free update to get full trophy support for the title.

The implementation of trophies has been a long-requested feature by fans. Metal Gear Solid 4 launched in 2008 right as Sony was asking all PS3 developers to incorporate trophies to give players extra incentive to play their games. Unfortunately, the development of MGS4 was completed before this request was put in, so the game shipped without the feature. Ever since, fans have been patiently waiting for a retroactive patch to implement the feature. Today is finally the day, some four years later.

Over at the PlayStation Blog, there’s a rundown of all the trophies being added to Metal Gear Solid 4. You can head over there to read them all.

So what do you think? Will you be replaying this now four-year-old game to snag all the trophies?
