Are You Ready for Prometheus 2?

Fox is moving ahead with a sequel to the Alien prequel, but who might not come back for the follow-up?

Whether you loved Prometheus, hated it or just thought it was kind of alright, it officially made enough money to produce a sequel. Just so we're clear here, Prometheus 2 would be a sequel to the prequel of Alien. Couldn't they just re-release Alien and make a day of it?

Well, 20th Century Fox is a little more ambitious than that. Hollywood Reporter is reporting that two of the film's stars are already signed for the follow-up, although their identities would constitute a SPOILER for anyone who missed Prometheus in theaters. Fair warning…? Fair enough. Both Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are officially on board for Prometheus 2, which should provide some clues as to where the sequel is going plotwise.

Although Hollywood Reporter makes it clear that Ridley Scott will be actively involved in the project, it's not clearly stated whether or not he will return to the director's chair for Prometheus 2. They're even more skeptical about screenwriter Damon Lindelof, who may not be available due to his busy schedule. Fox is reportedly seeking new scribes already in case the scheduling doesn't work out.

Given the way the first film ended, Prometheus 2 has free reign to go any damn place it wants to. Literally. Where would you like to see the sequel go anyway? And is the Predator homeworld out of the question altogether?

CraveOnline will be back with more Prometheus 2 news, because the trick is not minding that it hurts.
