Mark Waid & Leinil Yu To Give Us ‘Indestructible Hulk’

Marvel's been rolling out teasers for their NOW creative teams, and Waid & Yu may save the Hulk.

This week, some of the Marvel NOW creative teams have been revealed – or at least teased. Today, we've been told that Daredevil scribe Mark Waid will be teaming with Leinil Yu, the artist who drew the very memorable image of Ultimate Hulk tearing Ultimate Wolverine in half, to bring us the Hulk. And that Hulk may no longer be "Incredible," but rather "Indestructible."

Hopefully, he'll also be "Badass."

Waid has done a bang-up job bringing Daredevil back from the brink of madness, and hopefully he can do the same with how aggressively painful Jason Aaron's Incredible Hulk has been. However, a while back, we were teased that the Marvel NOW Banner/Hulk dynamic will be something new we haven't seen before, so it might even go crazier than Aaron. But we trust Waid to at least pay attention to the past… and we trust Yu to make the Hulk radiate power.

So where's Aaron going? That's another teaser – he and Esad Ribic are going somewhere "Mighty," which we are to assume means The Mighty Thor.  That is, unless it's Captain America wielding Mjolnir, or a new Beta Ray Bill ongoing or (shudder) a callback to Fear Itself somehow. Maybe Aaron will have better luck with the God of Thunder – we know Ribic can render the hell out of him.

Don't waste this talent, Mr. Aaron.

The other teaser so far this week included Kieron Gillen (oh, okay!) teaming with Greg Land (oh, gawd…) on something "Invincible," which can only be Invincible Iron Man. So it's time to prepare for a lot of O-face tracing.

Maybe a billionaire playboy manslut's book is where Land belongs, actually.

These are all starting up in November. And stay tuned for more revelations this week, too. There will likely be plenty (and if you take Dan Slott off of Amazing Spider-Man for the sake of a stunt, Marvel, there will be hell to pay).

UPDATE: Aside from learning that Brian Posehn, Gerry Duggan and Tony Moore will take on Deadpool, we've also learned officially that Rick Remender and John Romita Jr. will take over Captain America. Big shoes to fill with Ed Brubaker's epic run.
