Following the death of Roman (Christopher Meloni) at the hands of Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare), Salome (Valentina Cervi) revealed herself to be the power behind the coup of the Vampire Authority in last Sunday's episode of "True Blood."
Alongside her acolyte, Nora (Lucy Griffiths) and Russell, Salome explained to an incredulous Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) that this was all part of a divine plan. Despite their skepticism, Bill and Eric later drank the blood of Lilith with Rosalyn Harris (Carolyn Hennesy), Kibwe (Peter Mensah) and others not under Salome's influence before the intoxicating effects of the blood led all of them to go an orgy of bloodletting led by Russell himself.
In the midst of their feeding frenzy, Lilith (Jessica Clark) herself appeared to the group and seemingly gave them her blessing before Eric's late maker, Godric (Allan Hyde) appeared to him as well and seemed to snap him back to reality with a plea to save Nora from her actions.
For the first preview clip from this week's episode of "True Blood," Eric starts to regain some of his self control as the Authority continues to celebrate its decadence. And even Bill seems to have firmly embraced the Sanguinista philosophy after that quasi-religious experience.
When we last saw Sookie Stackhouse ( Anna Paquin), she was desperately trying to use up her faerie magic to become a normal human. But in the second preview clip, she and her brother, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) question Claude (Giles Matthey) and another faerie about learning the identity of the vampire who killed their parents.
Here is HBO's description for the new episode as well as another preview trailer:
Sookie and Jason visit where the faeries say their parents were supposedly killed by vampires. Bill begins having flashbacks. Sam and Luna become stuck. The Authority celebrate their new chosen direction.
"True Blood" season 5 continues this Sunday on HBO!
