You’ve seen her before…Trust us. She’s one of those performers that, once you realize who they are, you go, “Holy sh*t, I love her!” Having said that, Mary Lynn has been featured on great shows like 24, Mr. Show, Modern Family, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (where she series favorite “Gail the Snail”). She’s got her own podcast now Kickin’ it Mary Lynn Style — care of the always reliable people at The Nerdist — and we’ll be damned if it isn’t one hell of a good listen.

She covers getting started in showbiz to what it means to be ‘an artist,’ to parenting, to pessimismWith her hysterical co-host (and Mary Lynn’s Starbuck’s barista) Melanie Mosely — the conversation leads to some very interesting places — Jermaine Jackson, Scientology, politics, and, well, listen to yourself and find out…  In her pilot, she welcomes fellow 24 star, Carlos Bernard for a conversation devotees of the series will very much enjoy.

Bottom Line: If the pilot episode is any indicator, this series should be a welcome edition to your listening schedule on your weekly rotation. It’s funny, topical, edgy, but not over-the-top. The pacing and overall theme of the podcast is relaxed and fun. It’s just a plain well-done and enjoyable podcast.
