Longtime viewers of "Breaking Bad" may recall that there was a moment in the fourth season when Hank Schrader (Dean Norris) could have just given up on his chase for the mysterious underworld figure known as Heisenberg. The slain chemist, Gale Boetticher (David Costabile) loosely fit Hank's profile and he had hand written notes about the formula for the Blue Sky meth that seemed to implicate him.

However, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) just couldn't let it pass. He couldn't let anyone grudgingly admire Gale's genius by comparing him to his alter-ego, Heisenberg. So Walt shot off his mouth at the dinner table and he made Hank reconsider whether he had truly found his elusive prey. Because of Walt's hubris, a re-energized Hank turned his attention towards Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) and his investigation ultimately set in motion the final conflict between Gus and Walt in which Walt barely emerged victorious.

Now that Gus is dead, Hank has been validated for his suspicions. But even Hank isn't sure what's really going on.
In this preview scene from this week's new episode of "Breaking Bad," Hank and his colleague Steven Gomez (Steven Michael Quezada) are congratulated for bringing down Gus by the DEA chief. But the chief's words about Gus have a chilling effect on Hank and we practically see the wheels turn in his head as he listens to his boss.

Somewhere in Hank's mind, he has to have put together at least some of the clues that implicate Walt as Heisenberg. But it remains to be seen if Hank has consciously made the connection.
