In the early episodes of "Burn Notice" season 6, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) and his friends have been frantically trying to find a way to get Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar) out of prison. But a pair of new casting announcements for "Burn Notice" seem to indicate that Michael and company may have to go far outside the law to accomplish their mission.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Patton Oswalt and Sonja Sohn will be appearing late in "Burn Notice" season 6. And since their character descriptions may give away the direction the series is heading towards, consider this your SPOILER WARNING!
According to the report, Oswalt will appear in the 14th and 15th episodes of the season as Colin Schmidt, a notorious and expensive smuggler whom Michael and his friends need in order to stay out of CIA custody and disappear from their old lives. Meanwhile, Sohn will recur as a high level CIA director beginning in episode 13, who is described as a formidable opponent for any outlaw. The currently unnamed character is also said to be the woman who “literally [wrote] the book on counter-intel training and procedures.”
Although best known as one of the top comedians in the country, Oswalt has appeared in numerous TV series including "Seinfeld," "Caprica," "Community," "Dollhouse," "Bored To Dead" and "The Sarah Silverman Program" in addition to numerous film roles including Young Adult (pictured above) and his vocal performance as Remy the rat in Pixar's Ratatouille.
Sohn has had starring turns on HBO's "The Wire," "Body of Proof" and "Cold Case" as well as guest appearances in "The Good Wife" and "Brothers and Sisters."
Oswalt and Sohn's first "Burn Notice" appearances are expected to air this fall. New episodes of "Burn Notice" season 6 are currently airing Thursday nights on USA.
