Last Sunday on "True Blood," Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) were successful in their suicide mission as they located the revived Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) for the Vampire Authority.
And as Roman (Christopher Meloni) planned a quick execution for Russell, someone within the Authority betrayed him and allowed Russell to break free and stake Roman in the chest… killing him after centuries as a vampire.
The first preview clip from this week's new episode of "True Blood" takes place in the immediate aftermath, as Russell targets Eric while the remaining chancellors scramble into safe positions while their security team attempts to take care of the situation. Keep your eyes on Nora (Lucy Griffiths) and Salome (Valentina Cervi), as this clip seems to confirm some suspicions about them as well.
In our second preview clip, we catch up to Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) as he continues to aid Sheriff Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) in the investigation of the vigilantes targeting shifters and vampires. Apparently, Sam's status as a shifter still isn't widely known among Andy's deputies. But he's not exactly trying to hide it at this point.
And finally, the last preview clip catches up with Sookie Stackhouse ( Anna Paquin) in the faerie nightclub as she learns some unfortunate news about her magical powers and what that may mean for her future.
HBO's description for the new episode is also available along with another preview trailer:
As Sookie embraces her human side, she considers a life without her faerie powers. Salome shows just where her true allegiance rests. Sam uses his sense of smell to locate the shooters. Alcide gets ready for a fight. Lafayette searches for Jesus' body. Hoyt finds himself a new group of friends.
"True Blood" season 5 continues this Sunday on HBO!
