Time for the comic guys to weigh in on The Amazing Spider-Man, as well as the new Marvel NOW stunt.

The Amazing Spider-Man

It's Amazing Spider-Man week, and that means we here at The Book Report, Crave Online's comic book podcast, have plenty to say about it on our super-sized 106th episode. So much so that we brought over The Idiot Box host Blair Marnell to join Andy Hunsaker and Iann Robinson to talk about it. If you're a fan of the film, prepare to have your opinion vociferously challenged (although we do take pains to note some positive things about it, too).

In addition to kvetching about the latest entry in the wall-crawler's film franchise, we also discuss the House of Ideas and their answer to DC's New 52, which is taking the form of a non-reboot refresh called Marvel NOW. New #1s, new books like Uncanny Avengers and Brian Bendis' X-Men and a bunch of new outfits for your usual gang of heroes.  We also run down the books of the week, including Wolverine, Animal Man, He-Man, Man-Thing, Orchid, Lone Ranger, Earth 2, Before Watchmen: Ozymandias, Batman: Earth One, Avengers vs. X-Men, Punisher, Uncanny X-Men and Amazing Spider-Man (the comic, which is still great!), among others. We also do a mini-Idiot Box by veering off into discussions of Doctor Who, and how ignoramuses like myself might start getting into it.
