Last week on "True Blood," Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and Nora (Lucy Griffiths) were taken before the Vampire Authority and accused of being traitors.

However before the true death could be placed upon them, Bill revealed that Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) was not alive but also free from his concrete prison to pursue his vengeance against them all and disrupt the Authority's wider agenda.

In the first preview clip from Sunday's new episode of "True Blood," the leader of the Authority, Roman (Christopher Meloni) considers sparing Bill and Eric in exchange for their aid in taking out Russell. Needless to say, some of the Chancellors are less than pleased that Bill and Eric may escape with their lives.

Note that Salome (Valentina Cervi) and Kibwe (Peter Mensah) seem receptive to the idea, while Dieter Braun (Christopher Heyerdahl), Rosalyn Harris (Carolyn Hennesey) and Alexander Drew (Jacob Hopkins) appear to be almost too eager to make sure that Eric and Bill die.

The second preview clip catches up to Sam (Sam Trammell) outside of Merlotte's; which is apparently the only restaurant in Bon Temps. While closing up, Sam gets an unexpected visitor in the form of Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley); the newly turned vampire who appears to be badly injured after burning herself on the porch of Sookie Stackhouse ( Anna Paquin). But does Tara want help from Sam… or a quick meal?

As always, HBO has also released a trailer and a synopsis for the third episode:

Bill and Eric barter for their lives with the Authority Chancellors and their leader, Roman. Salome and Roman enlist a new ally in the face of Russell’s return. Sookie goes to Fangtasia to ask for help from Pam, who is still caught up in her memories of Eric and the strange murders at the Comstock Brothel.

Andy’s dalliance with Holly (Lauren Bowles) comes back to bite him in the butt; later, he’s visited by Gordon (Steve Rankin) and Barbara Pelt (Linda Purl), who are searching for Debbie. Jason bumps into an old high school teacher, but their reunion brings up conflicting feelings.

"True Blood" season 5 continues this Sunday, only on HBO!
