There's a rumor making the rounds courtesy of website Tom's Guide that Bethesda is working on a MMORPG based on the Elder Scrolls universe.
But before your nerd boner bursts through your pants, you might want to check those expectations. This is merely a rumor right now via an "anonymous source." And we all know how those types of sources can get it blatantly wrong or just release this stuff to stir the pot.
But what the hell, right? Let's indulge it for right now. So, Tom's Guide is reporting that this Elder Scrolls MMO will take place a millennium prior to Skyrim, which is technically the "Second Era" in Elder Scrolls lore. This would make the MMO chronologically the first game in the Elder Scrolls series. Additionally, there will be three playable factions, each represented by a spirit animal, as I'm going to call them — a lion, dragon and a bird of prey.
Lastly, the website speculates that this title will be shown off during this year's E3 event, as well as during QuakeCon. I guess in a few months we'll find out if that's actually the case. Until then, let us know if this is something you'd want in the comments below.
