Today on the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price confirmed what we saw coming: a Ratchet & Clank HD Collection is incoming to celebrate the franchise's 10-year anniversary (wow, that came up fast!).

Price confirms that the collection will include Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, with all remastering development handled by Idol Minds in collaboration with Insomniac.

In addition to the games themselves, the collection will also offer full 1080p support, 720p stereoscopic 3D support, as well as trophies (including three Platinums) and the full multiplayer component of Up Your Arsenal. Shwing!

The collection will hit North America this fall, a few months after it drops in Europe. However, Price was quick to say that Insomniac has something special planned for the North American launch to coincide with the franchise's big birthday. Details on what that is are to follow in the coming months, so sit tight.

For Ratchet & Clank fans, this is good news all around.
