The Guinness Book of World Records 2012 Gamer Edition features one hell of a perplexing list.

Wow. What were the folks at Guinness smoking when they decided to award Call of Duty: Black Ops the game with the best ending of all time? Okay, granted, it was 13,000 fans who voted on the best video game ending ever for the Guinness Book of World Records 2012 Gamer Edition, but Guinness should have stepped in and vetoed the hell out of this.

I mean, seriously, Black Ops?

In addition to Black Ops, 49 other titles were ranked to create one of the most bewildering gaming lists I've ever read. You'll be scratching you head and maybe even pulling out your hair as you peruse the extensive list of obvious choices and some that make you question your faith in a higher power. For instance, do you remember the epic conclusion to the original Sonic the Hedgehog? Yea, neither do I, yet it made position #28, beating out Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, BioShock and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, among others, in the process.

Clearly, Guinness loves the attention this list is getting from frustrated gamers. Hell, even in their press release announcing the complete list, Guinness draws attention to the fact that this list "will cause heated debate among passionate gamers and provide further evidence of the growing sophistication and popularity of video games."

Although, we're not sure exactly how awarding Black Ops with the best ending ever makes us sophisticated. Sheep, maybe. Either way, here's the complete list. Share your frustrations in the comments below.
