Paging Doctor Obvious. Doctor Obvious, are you in?

Guerrilla Games, the creators of the Killzone franchise, are currently working on the next game in the series, reports Edge magazine (via Gamerzines). However, They aren’t calling the game “Killzone 4” just yet, but instead a “Killzone follow-up.” Speculate away, folks.

According to the article in Edge, the “bulk of Guerrilla’s staff (is soldiering) on with the next Killzone installment.” The senior producer on Killzone 3, Steven Ter Heide, is supposedly acting as this game’s director.

It’s also worth noting that Edge previously reported that a major studio within Sony has already ceased development on further PS3 titles to instead focus on games for Sony’s next-generation console. Could Guerrilla be the studio tasked with championing the power of the PS4 like they did for the PS3 back in 2005 with that incredible Killzone 2 E3 demo? Maybe. But we have no definitive proof one way or the other. It’s just interesting to think about, that’s all.

What do you want from the next game in the Killzone franchise? We want a story and character worth giving a damn about, first and foremost.
