Yes, you read that right: Canadian bombshell and former "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson will star as the Virgin Mary in the TV special "A Russell Peters Christmas," debuting on December 1st on CTV and December 10th on The Comedy Network.
Other guests who will be making an appearance on the show include crooner Michael Bublé, Ted Lange ("Are We There Yet?"), Faizon Love ("Life as We Know It" and "My Name Is Earl"), Jon Lovitz ("SNL" and "The Simpsons"), R&B singer Goapele, and Brampton, Ontario native Scott Thompson ("Wingin' It").
The one-hour special will be inspired by the variety shows of yesteryear as comedian heavyweight Peters (who is also the executive producer of the special) puts his own unique (and twisted) twist on some Christmas classics. Viewers will be treated to carolers, a winter wonderland setting, and, of course, cheesy glad tidings, as well as a mix of Peters' hilarious stand-up, sketches featuring guest stars and Peters’ own mother Maureen and baby daughter Crystianna, stop-motion animation, and festive musical performances by various artists like Canada's own Bublé. And then there will be Anderson, of course, ironically donning the costume of the Virgin Mother during a quirky sketch re-enacting the nativity scene.
The special is being produced by Round 2 It Entertainment and CPI Pictures in association with Insight Productions and Bell Media.
Look for "A Russell Peters Christmas" on Thursday, December 1st on CTV at 9pm and Saturday, December 10th on The Comedy Network at 10pm.
