Fantasy Football Focus: Week 10

The playoffs are just around the corner.

James LeBeauby James LeBeau

One of the most important rules to any game you will ever play is that it doesn't matter how you start but how you finish and there is a simple truth to that. Many a fantasy football champion will find himself with an average record heading into the playoffs only to have his players get hot and win him a championship. Sometimes, as in reality, is isn't the best team that wins but the one that is best on that one given day. That's why they play the games and what makes sports so great, the unpredictability of it all. Heading into double digit on football weeks means we are hitting that crucial FF zone where the playoffs are around the corner. Have faith in your rosters and look for smart improvements, not panicky ones. If you are in contention, there is a reason for it so don't mess it up now with a dumb move or two!

Start of the Week: Tim Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos (at KC)

Maybe I was a little hasty putting the Tebow Kool Aid back in the fridge because after a horrific game against Detroit, Tebow came back with a vengeance against the Raiders. This the same Raiders team, mind you, that are now sitting in first place in the AFC West. After being voted the most overrated player in the league, expect Tebow to come out with a chip on his shoulder and put up good numbers.

Last Weeks Results: LeGarrette Blount, Tampa Bay (at NO) (7 points)

Top 5 Starts

Matt Ryan, QB ATL (vs NO)

Reggie Bush, RB, MIA (vs WAS)

James Starks, RB, GB (vs MIN)

Eric Decker, WR, DEN (at KC)

Jeremy Maclin, WR, PHI (vs ARI)

Jason Witten, TE, DAL (vs BUF)

Sit of the Week: Larry Fitzgerarld, WR, Arizona Cardinals (at Phi)

Let's face facts, you are not going to bench Larry Fitzgerald if you got him but honestly, don't expect a whole bunch out of the guy this weekend. He's facing an Eagles defense that has done a great job shutting down number 1 receivers so far this season and the Cardinals starter, Kevin Kolb, isn't looking like anything more than a potential back up this week as he is recovering from injury. All this adds up together for low expectations for Fitz.
