Good news, “Wakers.” We can expect an official reveal of the next Alan Wake title in December during the Spike Video Game Awards.
Yesterday, Spike sent out a press release announcing some of the premieres we can expect at this year’s VGA ceremony. In addition to a new game from BioWare and a “re-reveal” of Metal Gear Solid Rising, gamers can expect the curtain to finally be pulled back on Remedy’s next Wake title, which will be a fully standalone, downloadable game, as was previously reported.
Since yesterday’s confirmation via Major Nelson that the next entry in the Alan Wake series would be a downloadable Xbox Live offering, nerds have already started to rage across the internet. Why? Because they feel a downloadable title means an inferior product. Remedy has already started defending the decision to go digital, with the company’s community manager, Peter Papadopoulos, hightailing it to the game’s official forums to reassure fans everything will be alright.
“It’s structured like a full release complete with a pretty damn impressive storyline that expands the originals in some interesting ways,” said Papadopoulos. “I really enjoyed it so I’m sure you all will too!”
Get pumped for the full reveal at the Spike VGAs on December 10.
