Metal Gear Solid 3D will see its release on the Nintendo 3DS in early 2012. The news comes by way of the Tokyo Game Show and one of Kojima Production's special presentations as reported on by Andriasang.
Hideo Kojima himself clarified the release timeline of the 3DS version of this game. For those that don't know, Metal Gear Solid 3D is a remake of the PlayStation 2's Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
A version of this game was shown off at E3 two years ago. Only then it was not set as anything more than a tech demo built to show off the 3D capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS. With all of that 3D newness out of the way, we wonder exactly how this will fair as a portable product.
The Metal Gear franchise has a track record of long-winded gameplay and cinematic cutscenes; will that translate well to the pick-up-and-go nature of the 3DS?
If you love the series enough, it definitely will. Good news.
