So you finished your draft and you're feeling pretty good about it. Your fielding a team that features a couple of unappreciated guys like Ben Roethlisberger and Vincent Jackson who can light it up and a young potential stud runner in LaGarrette Blount. You're pretty happy with your team, even your kicker Nate Kaeding is potentially a top prospect, so when week 1 comes around, you are sitting in front of your tv pumped for a day of football action.
Then your world crashes.
Roethlisberger throws for 1 td but 3 interceptions. Jackson goes for 31 yards. Blount earns a measly 1 fantasy point. And to top it all off, Kaeding is out for the season! Talk about your horrible starts to the season.
As bad as that was for owners of these players, all quality fantasy starts, there is a silver lining in that it was only week 1. There is no need to go crazy after one disappointing week. Don't make any silly trades or desperation moves just yet. These guys, and others like them, can and will turn it around if given a chance. Besides, who would want them after that atrocious start!
Start of the Week
Tim Hightower, RB, Washington (vs. Arizona)
Hightower returns to face his old team for the first time and you know there is going to be a little bit of payback on his mind. Coming off of a solid week 1 that saw him run for over 90 yards and a touchdown, Hightower is primed to exceed those numbers as he will be running with a purpose this week.
Sit of the Week
Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta (vs Philadelphia)
Jones had a solid game 1 with 5 catches for 71 yards but he faces much stiffer competition this week in the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles feature one of the best secondaries in the game and the rookie will be hard-pressed to even match his week 1 totals.
