For the love of all that is holy, Shy Guy better be playable...

During the company’s Tokyo Game Show press conference, Nintendo made it official that they are bringing the Mario Tennis franchise to the Nintendo 3DS. This should shock pretty much no one, if we’re being completely honest.

Mario Tennis will be yet another Mario-themed title to hit the 3DS, joining the upcoming Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Where there’s Nintendo, there’s Mario. Or so the Bible says. Yea, I’m pretty sure that’s where I got that from…

Personally, I have a huge stake in the Mario Tennis franchise. Of all the Mario sports titles (not counting Mario Kart), Mario Tennis is my bread and butter. I spent many restless nights playing the Nintendo 64 version in college, pwning bitches with Shy Guy. If the series makes the transition to 3DS, I could finally be enticed to pick up Nintendo’s latest handheld. You know, just as long as it’s not Mario Tennis on Virtual Boy redux. Because, well, that would be atrocious.
