We never stop playing video games. That’s a fact. Even after we call it quits for the week we still look forward to getting home and continuing our digital conquests. It’s our life blood. So we thought it would be fun to share with everyone what our gaming intentions are for the weekend so you guys can get a sense of what we're playing and enjoying on a weekly, non-formal basis. Yes, this concept isn't new to the internet. But hey, we kind of want to join in on the fun. Can you blame us for that? So without further ado, here’s what we’re playing this weekend that will forfeit any semblance of rest…
Please feel free to sound off below to let us know what your gaming plans are this weekend.
Erik Norris: This weekend is all about Deus Ex: Human Revolution when I’m not diving into comic back bins at the Baltimore Comic-Con. Our review copy of Deus Ex showed up the other day and I’ve been plugging away at it to get a review written in a timely fashion. While I’m not far enough into the experience to really comment much on the gameplay, I will say that the game’s score is outstanding. It’s the title’s best feature thus far, and that’s not taking away anything from the actual gameplay. The score is just that awesome.
If I get any more spare time this weekend, I’ll probably fire up the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection that came in last week. Between the God of War: Origins Collection and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I haven’t had much time to step into the beautiful worlds Team Ico created for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. In the words of 30 Rock’s Liz Lemon, “I want to go to there.”
So if I find the extra time, I will be transporting myself to magical fantasy lands to rescue a princess and slay some massive giants.
Alex Keen: With no reviews on the horizon and a lot going on outside of the house, I’ll be lucky to squeeze in more than an hour or two of gaming. Still, that does not mean I won’t be playing some games. Besides definitely playing some iOS games like Fruit Ninja, Rage, and Words with Friends, I truly hope to play some of my backlog.
Tops on that list is Bulletstorm. I feel bad for this game because I, literally, have only played it for 10 minutes. That’s pretty strange for me to own a game and not play it; but, for some reason I have a mental block against this game. Despite that, it is my mission in life to put this game in for at least an hour this weekend. I swear! (Unless the Phillies have another game ending at midnight…)
Joey Davidson: I’ve got time enough to sit down with two games this weekend. I’m playing Crave’s review copy of Madden 12 and I can’t say a word about it.
It’s football. Shit, I’m fired.
I’m also itching to play Halo: Reach for one specific game type that actually showed up on Reddit this week. It’s a custom map that takes place in the Forge World hanger. There’s a slew of Warthogs in the garage, a ramp leading out and portals at the top and bottom of said ramp. One zombie at the bottom of the ramp, a bunch of Spartans above. Grab a Hog, drive at the zombie and enter an infinite loop from portal to portal.
The zombie tries to beat you down with his Hammer. Okay, fine, here’s a video…
