It’s official, DICE’s Battlefield 3 will sport a cooperative mode. EA Games made the announcement this morning at their press conference at Gamescom in Germany. As if we needed another reason to be jazzed for DICE’s latest Battlefield outing. The game’s co-op mode will feature teammate revivals, as well as land and air vehicles. Apparently, DICE isn’t cutting any corners with the added mode. The addition of co-op definitely gives Battlefield 3 a leg up on their stiff holiday competition, namely Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

But that’s not all, folks. EA and DICE also premiered a new multiplayer-focused trailer at the tail end of the EA press conference. The trailer, embedded below, shows off the game’s 64-player multiplayer, which is PC only (multiplayer on consoles is limited to 24 players). With 64 people running around on both land and in air, Battlefield 3 becomes quite the b-a-n-a-n-a-s experience. Take a gander for yourself, but prepare your brain for imminent explosion.
