Surprise! MGS HD Collection Includes 5 Games

We were happy with just three games. Now our heads are about to explode from excitement.

Up until this point, we thought the upcoming Metal Gear Solid HD Collection only included Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. And for the record, that would have been enough for us. But that’s apparently not enough for Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions. Hideo himself announced via twitter that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will in fact include two more games — MSX ports of Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2.

This brings the grand total of Metal Gear goodness up to five games in this compilation package. Consider us even more pumped for this game’s launch in November.

The reason why these two games are being included is because the compilation uses the re-release of MGS3: Snake Eater, “Subsistence,” not the original version of the title. In addition to a manipulable camera, Subsistence included the ports of Metal Gear 1 and 2 as bonus material. And since Subsistence is being included here in the HD Collection, we get two extra games to sweeten the pot. Oh happy day!
