Oh, how time flies. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago that free agency started and teams were flocking to find that missing piece to their championship dreams. Now here we are, on the brink of the kickoff of game 1 of the preseason, it almost feels too true to believe.
Wait, it WAS only a couple of weeks ago that free agency started!
You gotta hand it to the old lockout this summer, when the action started, it really started, and now we're into August and the countdown to the regular season is officially upon us. Tonight, football fans are gifted with 5 games to start off this 2011-12 season and while it's hard to say how coaches are going to handle playing their starters on limited practice (probably not much but they could surprise us), it's good to see football back in any shape we can getting it.
Speaking of shape, this first round of preseason games could be some of the ugliest NFL games seen in recent memory. With all the lost camp time and workouts, new players to the NFL are going to be in for a rude awakening. But you know the truth about train wrecks, you can't just help but stop and stare so expect viewers to tune in by the truckload and you can count me in as one of them.
Here are the five games that start this preseason on Thursday Night!
Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots (7:30 pm)
Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles (7:30 pm)
Seattle Seahawks at San Diego Chargers (8 pm)
Denver Broncos at Dallas Cowboys (8:30 pm)
Arizona Cardinals at Oakland Raiders (10 pm)
If you can't watch these games live, then tune into the NFL Network for your football fix as they recast every preseason game.
