Yes, Rambo is back in fashion.

If the title of this post didn’t clue you in, there’s a John Rambo game in the works at Reef Entertainment. The “Triple-A title” is being developed for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The question: Why Rambo, and why now?

Well, the CEO of Reef Entertainment, Peter Rezon, has provided the answer to that question in the game’s official announcement via press release.

“I am a big fan of Sylvester Stallone movies, and when we had the opportunity to secure the video game rights from StudioCanal for the Rambo franchise, we had to grab it with both hands,” said Rezon.

“With the success of the most recent Rambo film, and an international appetite for action movies with Expendables 2 scheduled for release next summer, we felt now was a good time to do something special with this licence.”

The answer: It’s smart from a marketing ploy angle.

Either way, expect a Rambo game sometime in the future, whether you want it or not. Could Reef Entertainment do the franchise justice? It's possible. However, Reef's previous titles include Rogue Trooper and Sniper Elite, which don't instill us with much confidence in their ability.
