Can Tim Tebow Succeed In The NFL?

That seems to be the (multi) million dollar question.

In case you missed it, the latest headliner to come from NFL camps is former player and current analyst Merrill Hodge take on Denver Broncos Quarterback Tim Tebow. Hodge, while watching tape of Tebow Wednesday, wasn't shy in expressing his lack of faith in the young signal callers ability to be a better choice at starter than Kyle Orton. Basically he called Tebow out for his inaccuracy on the move, elongated throwing motion, and propensity to run straight into contact.

Here's what he tweeted about Tebow:

Sitting watching tape of Bronco offense from last year! Orton or Tebow? It's embarrassing to think the broncos could win with tebow!!

Orton or tebow? QB play is not just about who works hard gives rare rare college speeches or who is a good guy!! Because orton works hard and is a good guy as well.

It's about who can play!! I just watched Tebow throw 5 out routes to a wide open WR! He was 1 for 5! 2 went in Dirt 2 in the stands!

That throwing motion he changed? U can't change who u r! Just watched 2 throws and he throws like he did in college!!

You must possess a skill set to play! Tebow struggles with accuracy!

Hodge, who despite not being a Hall of Fame player himself, is very knowledgeable of the game and has only increased that since getting into television. He easily goes over more tape than anyone not a coach or GM, so when he has something to say about someone, their usually is a lot of truth to be found.

This truth, however, doesn't necessarily make everyone happy as a number of Tebow supporters blasted Hodge for his thoughts. The most notable of these, surprisingly, was LeBron James of the Miami Heat. James is in a unique position to relate to the criticism Tebow is receiving as he is the constant target of sports analysts across the country.

Here's what he had to tweet on the subject:

Tim Tebow will succeed in the NFL. He's a hard worker, a student of the game, a natural born leader and most of all a WINNER! It takes time and he'll be nice

Listened to Merril Hoge today on [SportsCenter] and he was just blasting Tebow. The man hasn't even play a full season and its only his 2nd year in.

Guys get on that TV and act like they was all WORLD when they played. How bout encouraging him and wishing him the best instead of hating!!

Tebow, for his part, is sticking to character and taking the highroad. In an interview with The Denver Post, Tebow gives his response to all the naysayers.

"I'm trying to insulate myself from what people in the media are saying, but I've seen some of it, and it hurts because it's coming from people who haven't seen me practice, haven't seen me play, haven't seen what I can do," Tebow told the newspaper. "I did an interview the other day with someone on the NFL Network who said last year I'd never play a down in the NFL. He was wrong.

"Others who say I won't make it are wrong. They don't know what I'm capable of and what's inside me. My family and my friends have been bothered by what's gone on, and I tell them to pay no attention to it. I'm relying as always on my faith."

Not shocking that Tebow will try to turn these lemons into lemonade, that's his MO and what makes him a winner, but the real question remains.

Can he be a successful NFL Quarterback?
