July marked a surge into auto sales, continuing the momentum for affordable lease deals into August with many sub $200 payments on midsize and larger cars for less than $330 a month.
2011 Kia Optima – $199/mo. for 36 months with $2,699 due at signing
The Optima made noise earlier this year beating the Honda Accord in a Consumer Reports ranking comparison. This midsize offers class leading 24/35 mpg; the younger sister of the Sonata with its expansive cabin and luxury features as standard (Bluetooth, USB). One downside is the lack of engine options, with only a 2.4 liter four cylinder for 200HP and class worst seating comfort. This deal expires August 31.
2011 Buick Regal – $259/mo. for 39 months with $1779 due at signing
The $26,360 Regal priced at $259 priced with the lowest due at signing on this list places this car in immediate "Lease of the Year" contention. The Regal is a sporty upscale midsize that competes with the Acura TSX and the BMW 3-Series with a raw combination of performance (albeit no six cylinder), below the belt mpg (19/30), and super light steering. Safety is no concern as a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS in 2010 and an above average warranty (4 years, 50,000 miles). This deal expires September 6.
2011 Mazda CX-7 – $259/mo. for 36 months with $2853 due at signing
The Mazda CX-7 is a middle-of-the-pack performer in the crowded midsize SUV class, its biggest draw sporty handling despite the lack of features, little cargo room, and stiff handling. This deal expires August 31.
2011 Honda CR-V – $280/mo. for 35 months with $0 due at signing
The CR-V has been neck and neck with the RAV4 for the title of No. 1 compact SUV for years. This compact crossover is a practical driver with a little bit of everything, including solid safety scores, bulletproof reliabilities scores, and lots of cargo space for the family. This deal expires on September 6.
