Today, Ubisoft has announced a new animated short film entitled Assassin’s Creed: Embers, which will fill in the gaps of Ezio Auditore da Firenze’s life as it nears its conclusion following the events of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The short film is being developed by Ubisoft’s internal UbiWorkshop studio and will come packaged with the collector’s edition of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. You’ll also be able to download the film via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network after it launches alongside Revelations on November 15, 2011.

The films first trailer (shown below) definitely has us intrigued, but the animation looks a little bland. It’s obvious UbiWorkshop is going for a stylized, Pixar quality to the characters, but the environments look very plain and lacking. But even boring animation can be offset by a great story, and from what we see here, Assassin’s Creed: Embers could very well deliver on that front. So what are you waiting for? Check out the first trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Embers below and let us know what you think.
