7-23-11 – 2:20pm: Relativity's Immortals panel had an encouraging discussion about 3D, but not much new footage. They obviously wanted to recreate the Comic Con success of 300 but probably shouldn't have tried to so hard to mention the similarities. More exciting, but just plain wonky, was Francis Ford Coppola's panel for his horror movie Twixt, which will have live performances, edited on the fly based on audience reaction. A fascinating experiment, but as the panel proved there are a lot of kinks to work out.

7-22-11 – 8:00pm: The Sony Panel shows off Amazing Spider-Man footage (meh), Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance footage (looks better than the last one) and Total Recall footage (which is okay but unmemorable).

7-22-11 – 4:00pm: The Dreamworks panel only had one film this year, and it's the remake of Fright Night. But Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, Craig Gillespie, Imogen Poots, Marti Noxon and even Chris Sarandon, the star of the original, appeared to hype the film and show surprisingly exciting footage!

7-22-11 – 2:40 PST: The Screen Gems panel just ended and we've got news on Underworld: Awakening (including a surprise plot point they were not supposed to tell us about) and Attack the Block, with Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish dishing details on Ant-Man (still happening, new script finished Monday) and Attack the Block 2!

7-22-11 – 1:30 PST: Steven Soderbergh announces his is NOT retiring (and claims he never was) in the panel of his action movie Haywire! Plus, John Cusack on The Raven and more from The Relativity panel!

7-22-11 – 12:30 PST: Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson BOTH showed up at the Adventures of Tintin panel! Lots of great quotes, questions, answers and behind the scenes talk about the film we are only now really excited about!

7-21-11 – 8:28 PST – We've got an interview with Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt, in which he tells us why his Planet of the Apes sequel actually makes sense, but how he pays homage to the originals anyway.

7-21-11 – 5:56 PST – Robert Rodriguez has two Machete sequels greenlit, Sin City 2 shooting as early as this year, and a new production company with the rights to Heavy Metal (and he's reserving a slot in the anthology for a fan-made film) and Fire and Ice remake! Oh, and Machete 3 is in space. Jackpot.

7-21-11 – 5:35 PST – Hobbit dwarf cast photo!

7-21-11 – 5:00pm PST – Fox's HUGE panel brought the first Prometheus footage, plot talk, Charlize Theron, Ridley Scott, Noomi Rapace, Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfreid, Andrew Niccol, Andy Serkis and In Time and Rise of the Planet of the Apes!

7-21-11 – 3:00pm PST – Guillermo Del Toro, Nicolas Winding Refn, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and Drive, the action movie that might win Best Picture.

7-21-11 – 12:50pm PST: Pee Wee Herman's next movie will be another road trip in the vein of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. Find out more!

7/21/11 – 1:18am PST: Sorry for the late update, but Preview Night is always a light day anyway. We've got an interview with Shark Night 3D star Katharine McPhee (she also apparently did a little TV show called American Idol, perhaps you've heard of it), the first Avengers poster, and some disappointing news about The Hobbit (although we do have our next video blog from the production!). Our Hall H panel coverage starts tomorrow (er, today… man, we should get to bed), so check back throughout the day for updates!

7/20/11 – 10:36am PST: A trio of comic book movie announcements have squeaked in just under the wire for Comic Con 2011: The Darkness, Red Star and… Strikeforce Morituri?

7/20/11 – 1:45am PST: We're not even in San Diego yet and already we've got hot Captain America sequel news from Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnston and his screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely! Get the inside scoop on the Captain America Sequel straight from the horses' mouths.
