The third season finale of "Fringe" left the two warring alternate universes suddenly joined together in a bid to save both of their worlds, thanks to the efforts of Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson). However, the price for Peter's actions apparently caused him to be retroactively erased from existence, potentially changing everything we know about the show.
But that doesn't mean that Peter Bishop's story is over!
In this newly released teaser for season four (via TVLine), Fox has pulled out a short clip of Peter talking to his partner and eventual lover, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) from "The Arrival;" the fourth episode of the first season. Note the distortion fields which suggest that the clip is being erased from our collective memories.
You may have noticed the block of text that appeared upside down in this clip. To save everyone from needless neck sprain, here is the text in its proper form.
Although the teaser asks "Where is Peter Bishop?;" a better question might be "Who is Peter Bishop?"
Torv and Jackson will return this season alongside John Noble as Dr. Walter Bishop, Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles, Jasika Nicole as Astrid Farnsworth and Blair Brown as Nina Sharp. For the fourth season, Seth Gabel will join the main cast as Lincoln Lee, with Michelle Krusiec set to recur in a currently unrevealed role.
"Fringe" will return to Fox on Friday, September 23.
