Hey, remember that awesome CGI trailer for the Tomb Raider reboot that Crystal Dynamics released pre-E3? Yea, it was totally rad and perfectly pitched the company’s vision for their relaunch of the franchise, featuring a much younger, less experienced Lara shipwrecked on an island.

Well, now Crystal Dynamics has released a whopper of a making-of video with outlines the entire process of making that gorgeous E3 trailer. The documentary clocks in at over 12 minutes and covers everything from concept, to execution, to response. It’s a pretty fantastic behind-the-scenes look at how something so involved gets made.

If the goal of the trailer was to visual wow audiences and prove Crystal Dynamics was not taking this reboot lightly, then mission accomplished. A lot of people, including myself, were skeptical when it was announced that the Tomb Raider franchise was being relaunched, but that premiere trailer put a lot of worries to rest. And having seen the game in motion at E3, it appears as though Lara Croft will once again be relevant in the world of gaming.

So sit back, grab some popcorn and enjoy this interesting making-of documentary for the Tomb Raider “Turning Point” trailer.
