Meet Mortal Kombat’s Rain

Upcoming DLC will add the Prince-inspired ninja.

Like clockwork, Mortal Kombat will be getting another new kombatant on July 19, 2011, joining the ranks of the previously released Skarlet and Kenshi. Players can prepare themselves for Rain’s inclusion, who made his first appearance back in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. The weather-manipulating ninja will come with his own unique moveset and fatalities. He unfortunately does not have the rights to use "Purple Rain" as his fight music. For shame.

To usher in the announcement, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios have released the first gameplay trailer for Rain, which you can watch below. Rain will cost you 400 MS Points or $4.99 on the PlayStation Network. But he's free if you picked up the Mortal Kombat Season Pass.
