Bungie Creates Indy Developer Workshop

The Bungie Aerospace initiative will help indy developers launch their projects into orbit.

Today, Bungie, the makers of Halo, has unveiled “Bungie Aerospace,” a program created to help independent developers get their social and mobile games in front of the eyes of millions. Bungie will provide these developers with the tools and resources they need, as well as give them access to the Bungie.net platform so they can spread the word about their projects to the millions of dedicated Bungie fans.

“Bungie has always been passionate about making and playing great games, regardless of platform,” said Pete Parsons, Bungie COO. “Bungie Aerospace will allow us to explore game creation in multiple formats with some amazingly talented teams. Now that we’ve returned to our roots as an independent studio, we are in a position to launch Bungie Aerospace to support, foster, and elevate like-minded, independent developers.”

The first game that Bungie will be taking under their wing for this initiative is Harebrained Schemes’ “Crimson.” Harebrained is helmed by Jordan Weisman, who is best known for his work on the Halo 2 “I Love Bees” Alternate Reality Game, FASA Interactive, Wizkids, as well as the MechWarrior and Shadowrun universes.
