Talk about delivering a mega bomb of news to start off the week. Nintendo has officially confirmed the existence of their next console, claiming the hardware will be shown off and playable at this coming year’s E3 in June. Nintendo is aiming for a 2012 launch, as predicted.
“We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.”
That’s all Nintendo has given us to nibble on for the time being. They do not confirm or deny the power of the machine, or if the controllers will feature the screens on their faces.
For the record, we’re just happy with the official confirmation.
Honestly, we were sick and tired off all the rumors of this thing being a reality or not. The sheer amount of “sightings” over the last two weeks reached near Big Foot levels, with less hair… hopefully.
So, on to E3 then.
