"Fringe" fans may have a few reasons to celebrate.
For starters, the series’ first Friday night episode drew 4.9 million viewers according to The Hollywood Reporter. Those numbers are up 12% from the previous episode that aired on a Thursday in December. If the series can maintain those ratings or even increase them, then its chances for a fourth season will be greatly increased.
The series may also soon see some familiar faces unexpectedly return to the show. TV Line is reported that Andre Royo ("The Wire") will reprise his role as Henry Higgins later this season. Henry was a cab driver in the alternate universe who was Olivia’s (Anna Torv) first ally and someone who was instrumental to her escape. The story doesn’t specify if his character will be revisited in the main universe or in the alternate universe.
But if it’s the same Henry who appeared with Olivia, then his return could mean that he’ll be menaced by the Walternate (John Bishop), who had the alternate Colonel Broyles (Lance Reddick) murdered and dismembered for helping Olivia.
Of course, it could also mean that the entire Fringe team may be traveling to the alternate universe, which Noble hinted at during a recent interview.
And finally, there’s a rumor that Leonard Nimoy will come back to "Fringe," which was started by Nimoy himself!
"Plans developing for a William Bell return to ‘Fringe,’" wrote Nimoy on his twitter account. "Stay tuned."
Nimoy announced his intention to retire from acting last spring and made two final appearances as William Bell in which his character was apparently killed off.
But in the "Fringe" universe, sometimes death is only the beginning.
