Although the midseason premiere of "Smallville" was unexpectedly pushed back a week, there’s some good news on the horizon for fans of the long-running superhero series.
TVLine is reporting that Laura Vandervoort will once again reprise her role as Kara Zor-El (better known as Supergirl) in one of the final five episodes of the series. Vandervoort previously appeared in the third episode of the current season after starring on "Smallville" during the show’s seventh season.
Because Vandervoort’s primary TV series "V" is also produced by Warner Brothers, it was reportedly very easy to get her back in costume.
Additionally, Calum Blue will also be back as Zod according to TV Guide. Zod was last seen at the end of the ninth season being forcibly transported to New Krypton. Like Vandervoort, Blue is also expected to return for one of the final five episodes but it’s not currently clear if they will appear together.
TV Guide also revealed that an upcoming episode will feature the regular cast of Clark and his friends suffering "Hangover-like" effects the morning after he and Lois have a wild bachelor/bachelorette party in Las Vegas.
"We all wake up in different places in bizarre situations involving weird outfits and animals," said Erica Durance. "I wake up out on the train tracks with Oliver and realize I can’t find my engagement ring."
And judging from the picture used with the story, it looks like Lois is going to dressed up as a showgirl for at least part of the episode. Minor DC villain Amos Fortune will also make his debut in that episode.
In other "Smallville" news, Sebastian Spence has signed on to play Ted Kord in the "Booster" episode, alongside with Jaren Brandt Bartlett as the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle and Eric Martsolf as Booster Gold. There are also rumors that the final episode of "Smallville" will be two hours long.
"Smallville" resumes its tenth season with new episodes starting this Friday on The CW.
