Green Day has returned with the first new single from their upcoming trio of albums "¡Uno!," "¡Dos!" and "¡Tres!" and it's a refreshing departure from the California pop-punkers' last two Broadway-flirting releases.

The lyric video for Green Day's "Oh Love" arrives today, with hypnotic visuals that offer a 3D-immersive experience if you watch with "old-school red and blue 3D glasses."

"Far away, far away, waste away tonight, I'm wearing my heart on a noose, far away, far away, waste away tonight, tonight my heart's on the loose," frontman Billie Joe Armstrong sings on the new track. Watch/listen below.

"Oh Love" is the first song from "¡Uno!," but we can expect that the three upcoming albums will all sound quite different from one another.

"The first one is power pop," the 40-year-old frontman told Rolling Stone. "The second is more garage-y, 'Nuggets'-type rock. And the third is supposed to be epic. With the first album you're getting in the mood to party. On the second one, you're at the party. And the third album you're cleaning up the mess."

The discs are produced by Rob Cavallo, who co-produced the band's 1994 smash breakthrough disc, Dookie. "We wanted to get back to the simplicity of Dookie," he says. "We also wanted to go pre-Dookie, back to our love of Fifties and Sixties music, close-to-the-bone rock & roll. You don't hear a gazillion parts. The majority of this is drums, bass, two guitars and vocals."

"¡Uno!" hits stores on September 25, followed by "¡Dos!" on November 13 and "¡Tres!" on January 15. All of the albums are available to pre-order now from the band's website.
