Party-rock warriors Mötley Crüe and KISS have joined forces for a summer tour, ending weeks of speculation about what might be occurring between the two camps. The Tour launches July 20 outside of Washington, D.C. and wraps up its 40-date trek Sept. 23 in Hartford, Conn.

The vintage rock groups last shared a stage a whopping 30 years ago, way back in 1982. With more than 200 million albums sold between them, not to mention sold-out tours and dozens of hit songs, any 80s throwback fan is going to have a blast at this one.

Tickets go on sale Friday on Ticketmaster and Live Nation's website. Both bands will have fan club pre-sales starting Wednesday at 10 a.m.

When asked about the pairing, Crue bassist Nikki Sixx commented, “I think its a perfect match, maybe a match made in hell, but a perfect match.”

As for what to expect on the tour, KISS singer-bassist Gene Simmons declared, “What you’re gonna hear onstage is live music — no karaoke singers allowed, no fake bulls–t.”
